True Worship

Worship in its purest form

Is the man coming before his God,

Taking no account of himself

But reckoning himself as nothing.

He longs in his heart to show:

By the words of his mouth

His reverence for his Lord

And by the lifting of his hands

His acknowledgement of the sovereignty

Of Jesus as Master over his life.

Whether he kneels or falls down prostrate,

It is all about the holy, holy, holy God:

His sense of self disintegrates

As the divine intercourse between the man

And his Maker heightens to a climax.

It doesn't matter if tears roll down his cheeks,

Or if he is lost to his surroundings,

Or if he is shaking uncontrollably all over;

In the moments of such adoration, he gets a gift:

A glimpse of JEHOVAH, or healing, or a blessing;

But no matter what it is, after THIS connection

The man leaves with God as his ALL.

Have you experienced anything like this?

I sure can tell you: it is splendidly glorious!
